Sommerakademien
Innerhalb der einzelnen Forschungsfelder werden Sommerakademien organisiert, die die Gelegenheit bieten, Fragestellungen zusammen mit einer Gruppe von bis zu 24 international ausgewählten Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen zu diskutieren. Diese werden auf Grundlage einer internationalen Ausschreibung im Hinblick darauf ausgewählt, welchen Beitrag sie zu der gemeinsamen Fragestellung leisten können. Als Tutor*innen fungieren international renommierte Wissenschaftler*innen. Die Sommerakademien können in Berlin, an einem europäischen Partnerinstitut oder an einem Forschungsinstitut in der arabischen Welt stattfinden. Das Programm der Sommerakademien wird gleichermaßen von den Arbeiten der Doktorand*innen und Postdoktorand*innen sowie von Beiträgen etablierter Wissenschaftler*innen getragen.
