Forum member Angelika Neuwirth awarded with two prizes

She receives the Sigmund Freud Prize for Academic Prose 2013 and the Muhammad Nafi Tschelebi Peace Prize.
 

 

Angelika Neuwirth, a professor of Arabic Studies, has been awarded two prizes. This autumn, she will receive the Sigmund Freud Prize for Academic Prose by the German Academy for Language and Literature, which is endowed with a 20.000 Euro purse. She is accorded this honor due to the outstanding sensitive and understandable manner of representing her Coran research to a public audience.

Furthermore, she will be awarded the Muhammad Nafi Tschelebi Peace Prize, distributed by the Central Institute Islam Archive in Germany to individuals who encourage the dialogue between religions, traditions and cultures. Our sincere congratulations!

Angelika Neuwirth is a member of the Forum Transregionale Studien, head of the research program Zukunftsphilologie: Revisiting the Canons of Textual Scholarship and a member of the collegium of the EUME research program.
