is a PhD candidate in the Department of History and the Institute for Comparative Literature and Society at Columbia University. His interests span the history of science and the social, legal, and intellectual histories of the Middle East and North Africa. He holds a BA in anthropology from Boston University, an MA in Middle Eastern studies from Harvard University, and an MPhil in history from Columbia University. In the academic year 2022/23, he is an affiliated Doctoral EUME Fellow at the Forum Transregionale Studien.
