Amnon Raz-Krakotzkin is a member of the Collegium of Europe in the Middle East–The Middle East in Europe. He is chair of the department of Jewish History at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and since 2014 academic director of the Jewish Culture and Jewish Thinking unit at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute, where he also directs a project entitled Orientalism and Modernity from Jewish Oriental Perspectives in conjunction with the Ben-Zvi Institute for the Study of Jewish Communities in the East. In 2003/04, Raz-Krakotzkin was a fellow of the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin.
Among his publications are: The Censor, the Editor, and the Text: The Catholic Church and the Shaping of the Jewish Canon in the Sixteenth Century (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2007), for which he received the Zalman Shazar Prize for Jewish History, the book Exil et souveraineté: Judaïsme, sionisme et pensée binationale (La Fabrique, 2007), and Exile and Binationalism: From Gershom Scholem and Hannah Arendt to Edward Said and Mahmoud Darwish, Carl Heinrich Becker Lecture 2011, Berlin 2012.
